Abstract:
Project-based organizations are one the most challenging structures in the realm of knowledge governance due to their specific constraints and also a great potential for improvement in knowledge and learning processes. But these challenges have been rarely addressed in the related research and practice. This research attempts to present a clear and comprehensive understanding of the concept of knowledge governance in project-based organizations by following the mixed research approach using Meta-Synthesis and Delphi methods in an exploratory manner. The proposed framework of the research consists of 194 conceptual elements arranged in 6 dimensions, 19 categories, and 169 components. The identified categories are the “Purpose”, “Process”, “Structure”, “Mechanism”, “Context”, and “Approach”, each part of which defines “why”, “what” and “how” knowledge governance in project-based organizations. The proposed conceptual framework provides a solid basis for understanding the different aspects of knowledge governance in project-based organizations, and by addressing the challenges facing the project structures in the area of knowledge processes, it provides a platform for designing and implementing effective solutions for knowledge governance in such organizations.
