Abstract:
The purpose of this study assessing the competitiveness of tourism in the Middle East Due to the Air transport infrastructure, land and port and tourism services. This assessment is done in two steps. First, country scores are calculated separately in each infrastructure using the Promethee model. Second, the overall situation of countries is calculated and the rates achieved in 2015 and 2017 are compared. The research findings showed the land and port infrastructure is better than the infrastructure of the air transportation and tourism services infrastructure in the Middle East. The findings also suggest that Except for Cyprus, all of the studied countries have had a steady upward trend in the development of transport infrastructure and tourism in comparison to 2015. However, only the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are in a good position. The United Arab Emirates has been at the forefront of the Middle East Transport and Tourism Infrastructure for both. The output of this research can provide a strategy for tourism development planners in the Middle East and especially Iran.
