Conceptualization of Digital Workplace in Organizations
Today we live in an era that is referred to as the digital age. Digital technologies have had a transformative role in our lives and have a significant impact on our way of life, business and communication. Given the importance of digital transformation in the present era for the growth as well as, the survival of businesses, it is necessary to take action to move this direction. The digital workplace is one of the initiatives that leading organizations take to improve the performance of their employees in the workplace and create engaging experiences for them. Future workplaces, ins tead of where and when tasks are done, focus on how they perform, the expectations of employees and the creation of better work experiences. The digital workplace will serve as a basis for meeting employees’ expectations, es tablishing continuous communication between them, and organizing around different aspects of the work environment, such as organizational culture, governance practices, technology infras tructure, and operational processes. Given the lack of proper conceptualization in academic literature as well as dispersed perspectives on the digital workplace in whitepapers, the present s tudy sought to use the meta-synthesis method and interview with experts to conceptualization the digital workplace in organizations. The final results of this s tudy attempt to conceptualize this phenomenon by presenting a definition of the digital workplace in which various categories are considered.
