Structural analysis of Three Short Stories of Shahryar Mandanipour (Sharghe banafshe, Shaame Sarv o Atash, and NarBanoo)

Abstract:
Today, structuralism is one of current approaches to studying literary texts. Critics analyze literary texts to component parts by using this method. On other hand, they dispose superficial meaning to arrive virtual meaning and deep structure. In this research, by using structuralism theories of theorist (Barthes, Bremond, and Todorov), three series of short stories of Shahryar Mandanipour  (Abi mavaraye behar, Mahe nimrouz and Sharghe banafshe) has been investigated and identified simplicity and complexity of narration, the kind of narrator and deep structure of  stories. Shahryar Mandanipour, is one of the writers of short story in Iran that belongs to third generation. By relying on the element of language, and new method of writing story, he has created prominent works in short story and novel genres. Deep structure of Mandanipour stories mainly consists of purports such as death and life, love and hate, war and its consequences, unhealthy relations between humane and etc.
