The Effect of Roadside Landscape on Road Safety by Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy method

Landscaping plays an important role in road safety enhancement. The aim of this study is investigating the impact of marginal landscape on road safety. This research study evaluated the factors influencing on highway safety. To do this, through applying theoretical principles, it was determined criteria and measures influencing on landscape. Then, to prioritize the criteria, first, took opinions of 40 experts and through applying the fuzzy analytical hierarchical analysis of proposed criteria, they were divided into three groups including practical, safety and selecting plant type.
Results showed that among three criteria, safety has the highest ranking and selecting plant type is in the bottom of the hierarchy. Also results indicate that stress reduction in safety group, way of arranging in plant type selection group and beauty and preventing from visual pollution in practical group have the highest weight.
