Abstract:

The study is to measure social health and some social factors affecting it. The theoretical framework of this research is based on theories of Keys, Baudrillard, Lycec, Berkman, Rose and Wu. The method of this research is quantitative and survey type. The statistical population includes all students of Shahid Chamran University of Ahwaz. The sample size was 374 persons based on the Cochran formula. The stratified sampling was considered proportional to volume. The findings showed the mean of social health of students as 100/44 which indicates that their average health is moderate. The findings also showed that there is a significant relationship between perceived social support, mass media, field of study and sex with social health. There was also a reverse and significant relationship between age and social health, but there was not a significant relationship between membership variables in social networks and ethnicity with the dependent variable of social health. The results of multivariate regression showed that three variables (perceived social support, mass media and age) account for 10/3٪ of the changes in social health.
