The Effectiveness of Hope Therapy Approach on Group Happiness on Elderly Happiness and Psychological Well-being
The office space that is emerging in people's lives is a major threat and is facing the challenge of the Tunisian community. In a number of human factors, the population consists of a very small number of 1s. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of group education based on Hope Therapy on Happiness and Psychological Well-being in the elderly.
This study was a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test design with control group and the statistical population of the study was the Elderly Homes of Districts 1 and 2 of Tehran in 1977, using a convenience sampling method of 30 people (from 3 centers with mean age). 65 to 70 years old) participated in the study and were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups (15 in each group). Before and after the intervention, subjects completed the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (1989) and Reef Psychological Well-being Questionnaire (1995). The experimental group received eight weeks of 90 minutes weekly sessions of hope therapy and the control group received no intervention. SPSS software was used for data analysis and data were analyzed by multivariate analysis of covariance.
The mean and standard deviation of experimental group for happiness variable were 38.13 and 7.62 and for psychological well-being variable were 35.49 and 5.43 respectively. The mean and standard deviation of control group for happiness variable were respectively. 36.22 and 6.74, respectively. For the variables of psychological well-being 34.68 and 5.04, the results showed that the experimental and control groups were homogeneous, and the post-test results for the mean and standard deviation of the experimental group in the variable, respectively. Happiness was 41.67, 11.24 and in psychological well-being 37/81, 7.28, respectively, for the control group in the happiness variable 36.01, 6.43 and in the well-being, respectively. The psychological set was 34.68 and 5.04, respectively. The results showed that group education based on Hope Therapy approach was effective on the happiness and psychological wellbeing of the elderly (P <0.05). Psychological well-being was significantly increased.
According to the findings of this study, it can be concluded that group based education based on hope therapy can be used as a psychological training method by counselors in public and private nursing homes
