Introduction & implementation of Fuzzy FMEA under uncertainty: A case study
Failure modes and effects analysis )FMEA( is a powerful tool for identifying and assessing potential failures in products. Generally risk assessment in FMEA is carried out by using risk priority numbers )RPNs(. As a design and development of new products, this method has many shortcomings and ambiguities, therefore the applying of fuzzy numbers for the calculation of RPNs, is proposed that computational complexity is also encompassed. In this research, examining the kind of ambiguities and uncertainties that exist in the traditional FMEA as well as solutions to overcome the problems have been addressed in other research. Also we developed the software in excel application. This software is successfully tested with real data on the design and development of the “internal ventilation system” of a submarine.
