Abstract:

The modeling of urban trip attraction is one of the main important tools of urban and traffic planning, because the number of urban trips can be forecasted by the effective factors of travel attraction in an urban district. There is no comprehensive study in Iran that forecast the trip production and attraction of different land uses of a city. The factors of land use, proximity with metro stations, street function, proximity with BRT line, tourism areas, proximity with bus station and building density are the effective factors of urban trips attraction in 6th district of Tehran city. These factors and sub-factors were compared with each other in order to determine the hierarchical importance of relative to each other. As a result, the areas with very high, high, average and down trip attraction were identified. This model used to find the areas with high trip gravity which can be a guide for urban planners and traffic planners in order to locating the place of needed services or current land use change for the organizing of future urban traffic.
