An analysis of urban viability with emphasis on the physical-infrastructural dimension Case Study of District 17 of Tehran

In today's world, cities have become the center of human life and work. If, in the not too distant past, cities were exceptional and scarce phenomena, they would have become the main human and normative place of residence today. The overwhelming growth and development of cities in the modern era and the increasing challenges associated with it have endangered the lives of cities. For this purpose, one of the approaches to improve the quality of life is the biodiversity approach. Sustainability is one of the approaches that seeks to create a safe and healthy environment for human communities. This approach consists of a combination of economic, social, environmental and physical dimensions. To this end, this paper aims at identifying the problems and problems of urban areas in discussing the viability of urban areas with an emphasis on the physical and infrastructural dimensions and to achieve the research objective of Area 17 of Tehran as The case study sample is selected and analyzed in the discussion of biodiversity. The research method is descriptive and analytical and is applied in nature. Data collection was done using library and survey sources (questionnaire). The analysis of the indices was performed using one-sample t-test. The results show that Tehran District 17 is not in a desirable situation based on urban form and access and network path indicators.
