A review of the various applications of 3D printing technology in medicine sciences
Although 3D printing technology entered the medical world in the mid-1980s, it has only become widely known in the world in recent years. Recent advances in printing speed, technology, and material selection have had a significant impact on several industries, and even health care. This technology is used in various fields. Similarly, 3D printing technology can be effective in modelling replicas or drawing some parts of the human body, including hard and soft tissue. The purpose of this review is to review the various applications of 3D printing technology in medical sciences.
This review study uses search in databases such as Scopus, ERIC, Science Direct Elsevier, PubMed, Google scholar ProQuest with the keywords training, educational technology, 3D training, body print, orbit and anatomy. The search was conducted in Perian and English without any restrictions. The most relevant research is reported.
A total of 220 articles were found. After reviewing the title and abstract, the most relevant articles were evaluated. The findings suggest that 3D printing technology has revolutionized medical science. This technology has been used in various fields of medicine, including pharmacy, ophthalmology, medical orthopedics, medical surgery, cardiology, dentistry, etc., and has had satisfactory results.
The importance of 3D printing technology in its’ use in medicine has led to the design of implants that reduce the time of surgery, increase diagnostic accuracy, motivate knowledge and attract attention, positive effects of attitude and logical thinking, create simulators for surgery, and real anatomical representation and characteristics of the tissue.
