Psychometric Properties of Amsterdam Misophonia Scale (A-MISO-S)
The present study aimed to investigate the validity and reliability of Amsterdam Misophonia Scale (A-MISO-S) in Iranian society. The research method was descriptive-survey and the statistical population included all high school students in the Education District 8 of Tehran, Iran. From this population, 500 students from three high schools were selected by random sampling method. The instrument was Amsterdam Misophonia Scale, which was introduced by Schroeder, Vulink and Denys (2013). Cronbach's alpha and exploratory factor analysis and correlation coefficient were used for data analysis. The results showed that all questions of A-MISO-S have proper internal consistency and the reliability and validity of the whole scale was appropriate. Also, A-MISO-S showed two factors. The results of the correlation test showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between A-MISO-S among students with the Maudsley Obsessional-Compulsive Inventory and Anxiety Sensitivity which shows the convergent validity of these questionnaires. According to the findings of this study, Amsterdam Misophonia Scale is a valid and reliable scale to measure the misophonia syndrome in Iranian youth.
