The Effectiveness of Teaching the Religious and Psychological Foundations of Marriage in the Context of Islamic Culture on the Reduction of Gamophobia or Fear of Marriage in Graduate Students of Tabriz University
The aim of this research is to study the effectiveness of teaching the religious and psychological foundations of marriage in the context of Islamic culture on reducing Gamophobia or fear of marriage in graduate students of Tabriz University.
The present study is a semi-experimental research with pretest and posttest design with one-month follow-up with the control group. The research population is all female doctoral students of Tabriz University. Among them, 30 students were randomly assigned to experimental (15) and control (15 students) groups. A researcher-made questionnaire of Gambafia is used as pre-test and post-test in this research. The training program is designed as an independent variable in 8 sessions of one hour, two sessions a week. Finally, the data were analyzed using covariance analysis and analyzed by SPSS version 13 software. In analyzing data, multivariate covariance analysis with repeated and single variable design was used.
The results showed a significant reduction in the mean scores of the experimental group Gamophobia in comparison with the control group scores. Generally, the teaching of the religious and psychological principles of marriage in the context of Islamic culture significantly reduced the level of gamafobia or fear of marriage.
Based on the results of the study, it is suggested that the marriage philosophy training program based on an Islamic perspective be used to reduce the fear of marital graduate students.
