Examine the Views of the Special Rapporteur of Human Rights Council on the Negative Impact of Unilateral Coercive Measures on Enjoyment of Human Rights

After the end of the Cold War, Economic sanctions have become to the mainstream of the international community and some governments, as far as, Some have called the 1990s a decade of sanctions.These measures, albeit, of its unilateral type that has been examined in this study, In order to fundamentally change in the behavior of the targetd states are imposed by the source and sanctioning States, furthermore legal challenges, these measures have a negative impact on the enjoyment of human rights. Rights that are explicitly emphasized in the international human rights instruments and are protected by the international community. The negative effects of Unilateral Coercive Measures or unilateral economic sanctions on the enjoyment of human rights have led to a serious response by relevant institutions, in particular the United Nations Human Rights Council. Therefore, in one of its resolutions, the Council has appointed a Special Rapporteur on the negative impact of Unilateral Coercive Measures on the enjoyment of human rights. In this respect, Human Rights Council and Special Rapporteur denounce Unilateral Coercive Measures in violation of human rights instruments. Including the United Nations Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Universal Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the Covenants. In this research, by using content analysis method as well as documentary method, The approach and views of the Human Rights Council and the Special Rapporteur will be extracted and analyzed.
