Explaining the role of community management on social sustainability in Tehran through linking social capital
Urban planners and policymakers in recent years have tried to solve urban problems and promote social sustainability through a community-based management approach and utilization of social capital. Accordingly, the purpose of this article is to provide an appropriate model for managing the local community for the social sustainability of Tehran, with an emphasis on social capital. This paper is based on descriptive-analytic studies and data gathering was done using a standard questionnaire and researcher-made questionnaire. The statistical population includes all citizens in 1, 5, 8, 11, and 17 cities of Tehran, of which 384 were selected by cluster sampling method. The calculated Cronbach Alpha was 0.945 which indicates that there is a sufficient correlation between the items of the questionnaire and their variable. The results show significant community management effect on social capital of the communicator (t = 3.321> 2.58). This effect is 402/0. Also, the presence of mediator variable, community management with social capital and social capital’s relationship with social sustainability of Tehran were statistically significant with 95% confidence. In sum, the results indicate that if the local planning authorities of Tehran can increase the amount of trust through the desirability of performance, commitment to the tasks and ultimately popular acceptance to discover the informal networks of communicating social capital, this The type of capital will expand the vertical relationships between local management and higher levels, and internal ties within the neighborhood will increase the sense of belonging and participation. This type of capital is ultimately boosted through promotion, awareness, trust, and interconnections, and the creation of local development associations, which are one of the main factors behind the social sustainability of the city.
