Constructing and Standardizing the Feeling of Self-Worth Questionnaire
The purpose of this study was to construct and standardize the feeling of self-worth questionnaire. This research was describes-correlation. The statistical population of the study included all the clients of one of the psychology clinics in Tehran in the period June-Jul 2020 with 112 people. 80 people from the mentioned community entered the study by available sampling method. The instrument of this research was a 38-item questionnaire and a researcher-made questionnaire based on the theoretical foundations of the research, which was answered by 30 people from the sample. 12 items of the questionnaire that had the least internal consistency with other items were removed from the questionnaire. The remaining 26 items in the four subscales were approved by 8 experts with 75% agreement and the content validity of the questionnaire was confirmed. The modified questionnaire was answered by 50 other people from the sample. Results showed that Cronbach's alpha of this tool was 0.96 for the total self-worth score, and for the subscales of 1) interpersonal relationships 0.89, 2) self-acceptance 0.91, 3) sense of competence 0.86, and 4) The meaning of life is 0.94. The mean total score of self-worth for the study sample was 56.60. The correlation coefficient of the 10-day retest was 0.98 for the total self-worth score and 0.98, 0.98, 0.87, and 0.97 for the subscales, respectively. The findings showed that the self-worth questionnaire has good validity and reliability for use in self-worth research.
