Investigating the Effects of Precipitation on the Water Balance of the Rivers West of Iran and the Role of Teleconection Patterns in These Changes

In this study, the effect of climate change on surface and underground waters of the western rivers of Iran basin was studied. In order to study the climate change of future periods, the output of HadCM3 model under the scenarios A2 and B1 was quantified by LARS-WG statistical model. Then simulated temperature and precipitation data were performed with the base period. The results showed that in the next period, the average annual rainfall will increase from 14.20 to 57.69 mm at Sanandaj station and will increase by 9.41 to 31.31 mm at Marivan Station. In order to investigate the effect of different climate scenarios on the groundwater level, scenarios A2 and B1 were used. The results showed that in the scenario A2 in the period 2020-2029 the rate of waterlogging is 1. 2 meters. In the period 2030-2039 this value is 1.40 and finally in the period 2040-2040, the groundwater level is 306.46, which has a drop of 1.61 meters. The B1 scenario also predicts a fall in groundwater levels of 0.75, 0.88 and 1.28 meters for the upcoming period, respectively. The results of the research showed that the level of groundwater level will be decreasing according to the climate scenarios and will decrease the water level over time. Also, scenario A2 will have a smaller downside than optimistic scenario B1.
