Assessing the effects of metropolitan governance and public policy in metropolitan areas Case study of Ahvaz metropolis

Public policy as a set of institutional activities that have a direct or indirect impact on the lives of citizens, and the decisions and policies made by various public sector authorities on the issue of the city and human settlements such as parliament, government and judiciary. Which are representative of the protection of the public interest of society, is adopted. The policy-making process is process-based. By combining governance and public policy, we see high participation, easy and fast detection of urban problems and quick alternatives in the process. With the process of participation and participatory governance, we will see the realization of public policy in society. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to present the components of proper urban governance in the metropolitan area of Ahvaz. This research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive and survey in terms of nature. The statistical population of this study includes urban management experts in Ahvaz. The instrument used in the research was a questionnaire and 50 people were randomly assigned. The results indicate that there is a significant relationship between the studied components at 95% confidence level. The variables of synergy, effectiveness and efficiency, participatory and institutional capacity and arrangements in comparison with other variables play an effective role in governing the metropolitan area of Ahvaz.
