A Phenomenological Study of Designing a Conceptual Model of Farhangian University's Comprehensive Research System

This inquiry aimed at designing a relevant conceptual model of the comprehensive research system of Farhangian University through understanding and interpreting of the university management system and research specialists in the field of teacher education with a qualitative phenomenological approach. To this end, participants comprised of 22 provincial managers, 6 headquarters managers, and 2 experts who were purposefully selected via variation sampling approach to capture the heterogeneity and breadth of knowledge available in the reference population. A semi-structured open-ended interview questions - was employed so as to collect more insightful data. This inquiry benefited from “Maxqda” for analyzing phase. Subsequent to the long-term coding process and to promote the trustworthiness (validity) of the present study, multi-method strategies such as triangulation, member check, peer review examination, audit trial, and maximum variation approaches were also utilized. Interceders’ agreement also shown 0.91 which guaranteed that healthy coding decisions were made on coding. In the process of conducting the research, to identify the categories, components and dimensions of the research system, content analysis was performed. Finally, after reviewing and analyzing the text of interviews and theoretical texts, "117 categories, 25 main components and 6 dimensions" as infrastructure The main "conceptual model of the comprehensive university research system" was identified and the model was designed.
