This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of anger management training in reducing violence and mental health patterns of couples in the city of Hamedan.
This research method is quasi-experimental and in order to do it, among couples who were referred to counseling center, 40 people by sampling method selected randomly and were replaced into two experimental and control groups. Experimental group have been undergone over 8 sessions of anger management training programs. Data were collected from the questionnaires of mental health and domestic (family) violence cst-2 before and after the intervention process (Pre- and post-intervention process) and were analyzed by analysis of covariance.
The findings of this research showed that training the anger management skills can significantly reduce domestic (family) violence and increase mental health of the couples. There is a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of domestic violence and mental health.
The results of this research suggest that the training of anger management skills is a good way to reduce domestic (family) violence and thereby leads to improving the mental health of the couples. Training of anger management may be set and changed through behavioral skills and will help to create a pleasant emotions for couples to reduce their own violence, in the effect of these desired changes behavior and mental health of couples were improved
