An Investigation into the Impacts of IT on decision-making of IRIA’s Commanders
Understanding the stance of information technology in commanders’ decision taking increases the quality of their decisions. Objectives of this research are determining the role of IT in increasing the quality of commanders’ decision taking and recommending solutions to remove decision obstacles. The research is an applied, library research one and based on authentic documents. A questionnaire was also used in order to collect data. The population consisted of commanders from three Army services, among which 118 subjects were selected using random sampling method. In order to investigate the impact of independent variable on dependent variables; that is, commanders’ decision taking quality, using T-test, and Pearson correlation coefficient. After implementing T-test at the significance of 0.05, the hypotheses of the research were approved; and it was clear that the variable IT has a direct impact on variable commanders’ decision quality. From among other findings of the research is the fact that taking benefit of IT in military units is way from sufficient, and the progress is still slow. Developing, equipping, supervising, and controlling the implementation of IS development plans, as well as observing standards for their implementation can have a significant role in improvement of the quantity and quality of IT in IRI Army.
