Stress Immunization: a Method to Reduce Nurses’ Work-Related Stress
Recent studies in the field of nursing show that nurse’s work at hospital is dangerous and stressful and psychological pressure arising from existing stressors in this profession can lead to illnesses and disorders that seriously endanger the wellbeing of nurses. Thus application of preventive and efficient methods to manage stress, seem necessary. One of these methods is Stress Inoculation Training.
This research is a review study based on library studies and searching in databases like Irandoc، Magiran and Google scholar between 2000 to 2019 about the impact of SIT application on stress reduction.
eighth cases from studied cases, showed a meaningful relation between SIT application and stress reduction and in just two cases, no meaningful relation was found.
Conclusion and discussion:
since Stress Inoculation Training program is an inexpensive, effective and secure method for stress reduction in most of the cases, its application is recommended for nurses’ effective work-related stress prevention and improving healthcare quality by controlling environmental conditions and enough intervening sessions.
