The Role of Cardiac Rehabilitation Interventions in Patients after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft
Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR) is one of the important strategies that can improve the quality of life of patients after coronary artery surgery. Many studies consider it necessary to implement a comprehensive postoperative rehabilitation program. The aim of this study was to determine the role of cardiac rehabilitation interventions after Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG).
This is a review study that is conducted based on online resources including (PubMed, Google Scholar, Magiran, and Sciences Direct), library resources and theses by using keyword cardiac rehabilitation, coronary artery bypass graft, coronary artery surgery and patient performed, between 2010 and 2020.
Numerous studies show that cardiac rehabilitation in patients after CABG reduces the rate of heart accidents, readmission, anxiety, depression, stress and mortality and improves lung function capacity, sleep quality and finally Increases the quality of life.
Discussion and Conclusion:
Cardiac rehabilitation is a valuable treatment for patients with a wide range of heart diseases and improves clinical outcomes. However, attendance at heart rehabilitation is still low and interventions should be developed to increase its use by the health care system by raising the awareness of clients and their families.
