Abstract:
As one of the most important precepts of Islam, Hajj has been greatly emphasized by Islamic law. The one who goes to Hajj is immune from the torment and the one who does not go is infidel. Allah has made kaabe as an implicit sign and safe place. In the 97 verse of sura al-Imran, obligatory ruling of going to Hajj and keeping it safe is conditioned to affordability. Considering holy Quran and traditions, Imami jurists defined affordability as being affordable in travel equipments, vehicle, financial and human ability, and safety of the path of going and returning as well as the time of performing hajj. While the path is not safe, different Fatwas are given; some have made it obligatory and the others have not. In this paper affordability is defined and, then, one of its examples as security and safety of the way is analyzed, too.
