Sexual Variety Seeking, Sexual Satisfaction & Infidelity Proneness

As far back as the third millennium, the family is still considered the most fundamental institution of society, its strength is one of the issues that has received special attention in all cultures of the world, and many efforts are being made to maintain it .The World Health Organization (WHO) has also identified the family as the primary social factor in increasing human health and well-being. Throughout history, marriage has always been emphasized as one of the most important and highest social rituals to meet the emotional and security needs of adults. Marriage is a humane, delicate, dynamic, and all-encompassing relationship. Family stability and the strength of marriage have a significant relationship with the structures of sexual behavior.

The research purpose was to investigate the relationship among sexual variety seeking, sexual satisfaction and the infidelity proneness in married men and women. Therefore, in a correlative study, 444 married women and men, to equal numbers, were tested with these 3 scales; SVSS: Sexual Variety Seeking, LSSS: Larson’s Sexual Satisfaction Scale and IPS: Infidelity Proneness Scale. Then data analyzed with Correlation Test and Regression analysis.

The correlation result of the scores indicated that sexual variety seeking and sexual satisfaction are predictors of infidelity proneness.

It can be concluded that increasing people's sexual satisfaction in the covenant of loyalty can reduce Infidelity Proneness.
