Determining the effect of acceptance and commitment therapy on Difficulties in Emotion and mental health of women in the addicted family Abstract Women in addicted families are under a lot of stress than other women and suffer from more psychological problems. Therefore, the aim of this study was to Determining the effect of acceptance and commitment therapy on Difficulties in Emotion and mental health of women in the addicted family. Method The research method was quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The statistical population included all women in the addiction family of Karaj who were randomly selected and screened using the Goldberg and Hiller (1979) Mental Health Questionnaire from among the statistical population of 30 people and randomly (15 people) in the experimental group and ( 15 people) were assigned to the control group. The experimental group underwent commitment therapy based on commitment and acceptance in 8 sessions. After the intervention, participants responded to the post-test. The collected data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance with SPSS software. The results showed that the participants in the experimental group received higher scores in the mental health questionnaire and lower scores in the emotional difficulty questionnaire than the participants in the control group. These scores are significant at the level of 0.05.The results showed that commitment and acceptance therapy training (act) can be effective in improving the mental health and emotional difficulties of women in addicted families
