Nanotechnology innovation system in Iran Based on Functional and Structural Components
Nanotechnology is one of the most important drivers of innovation. Due to the importance of this technology, in the present study, the structural and functional components of the nanotechnology innovation system in Iran has been analyzed simultaneously.
The research strategy is quantitative and the data collection tool is questionnaire. The statistical population includes policy makers, firm’s managers and university professors in the field of nanotechnology. Data collection was done analytically-descriptively through information obtained from questionnaires, documents and reports published in the field of nanotechnology.
Findings show the weakness of interactions between the actors of the nanotechnology innovation system. Also the resource mobilization function is in a more appropriate situation and the function of creating legitimacy is in a weaker position than other functions, which somehow confirms the existence of systematic problems in the innovation system of nanotechnology in Iran.
Strengthening interactions between actors in the Nano-technology innovation system, as well as further support for strengthening the function of legitimacy, can have a positive impact on the conditions of this system.
