Islamic Mysticism: the School of Forbearance and Tolerance

This article argues that Islam, based on the sublime lessons of the Quran and the remarkable biography of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.), is the religion of forbearance. It acknowledges the existence of differences between Muslim communities and other religions and prohibits any useless confrontation rooted in blind fundamentalism.It also argues that Islamic mystics, by relying on their religious teachings, proclaim that the way to God is diverse and each way has its own merits, thereby emphasizing that all communities mean to do good. They invite communities towards forbearance and tolerance to establish a utopia, where they can live together peacefully.
