Exploring Religious Pluralism and Inclusivism in Imamiyyah's Viewpoint
English With respect to the rightfulness, salvation and prosperity, three different viewpoints can be proposed: exclusivism, inclusivism and pluralism. These viewpoints can be sought and investigated in any religion with regard to its denominations. In this article, we intend to explore each of the aforementioned viewpoints, of course not their religious type but their denominational kind according to Imamiyyah. Imamiyyah exclusivists claim that not only the rightfulness but also salvation and prosperity (Falaah) are only achieved through Shi'a and by Shi'ites. On the contrary, Shi'ite inclusivists believe that just one religion, Islam, and only the followers of one denomination, Shi'a, are rightful, but salvation and prosperity can have a vaster domain than just one denomination. So as to explain this viewpoint, various approaches can be taken; for example, based on our Imams' sayings, what leads to salvation (which is usually referred to as "Daaem") isn't anything beyond the Islamic Common Tenets (Religion's Tenets or Osool-e-Din), and if in some of Imams' sayings Velayat has been added to this list, it's not the shi'a's Imamate which can be found just in Imamiyyah, but it refers to the Love of Ahlul Bayt or to the issue of differentiating from "Nassibis", which is common in all Islamic denominations. Some scholars go beyond this and support religious pluralism. They believe that as we have different Ijtihads (Understandings) within denominations, and mistakes in Ijtihad do not put the person out religion borders, religious different views are assumable and do not put one out of Islam.
