The Coping Style With Stress and Problems Based On Folkman And Lazarus Theory in Persian Didatic Litrature, based on the Story of “the Lion and the Prey” in Masnavi
The purpose of this study is to answer the question, to what extent the coping methods concerning psychological tensions in Persian didactic literature are adaptable to problem-focused and emotion-focused stress management skills of Lazarus and Folkman, based on the story of “The Lion and the Prey” in Masnavi. The research method employed in this study is analytical-descriptive, similarly applying Todorf's method in the hierarchy of the story and Lazarus and Folkman's coping skills questionnaire to determine the coping strategies. The results confirm that the coping skills stated in this story are consistent with Lazarus and Folkman's problem-focused method, and the psychological tensions in the story are eliminated by deliberately resolving the problem, taking responsibility, and seeking social support. Furthermore, the emotion-focused coping methods are likewise, yet moderately used.
