The Infidelity of "the Third of the Three"and the Monotheism of "the Fourth of the Three"from the Perspective of the Holy Quran
The Holy Quran, with different expressions, on the one hand, denies polytheism and, on the other hand, invites people to monotheism. Denying belief in " the third of the three" about God and emphasizing God`s state of being “the fourth of the three" is one of these ways. From the Holy Qurchr('39')an`s perspective, the expression of "the third of the three" about God, indicates the limitation, physicality and coherence of God with other beings and, consequently, the attribution of numerical unity to God; so that if God be with two people, they would be summed up as three ones. In this sense, the "third of the three" is blasphemy and falsehood. While the expression “the fourth of the three" keeps God away from limitations and similarity to other beings, and, therefore, God`s Unity would be non-numerical, and for the same reason, if God known as being accompanied by two beings, He would be the third of the two and they would be existentially surrounded by Him, not as being counted with and added to them. For this reason, “the fourth of the three" is a sign of pure monotheism and is used about God Almighty.
