The investigation of Social factors affecting Depression among students of Kashan University

The purpose of this study was to evaluate some of the factors affecting Depression among students of Kashan University. In theoretical Framework of this research, Psychological Analysis Approach, Behavioral Approach and Behavior-Oriented views of Freud and Abraham are used. The method of this study is Survey Method and data collection tool was Questionnaire. The study population of this research included 300 students studying at Kashan University. The results showed that there is significant and inverse relationship between Religious Affiliation, Family Functioning and Self-Esteem variables and variable of Depression (As the dependent variable). There is significant and direct relationship between Individual Personality Traits, Socio-Economic Status and Events in the last year variables and the variable of Depression. Also, the regression analysis showed that the variables of Religious Affiliation, Family Functioning, Self-Esteem and Events in the last year, were the most influential variables on Depression. Parallel with Religious Affiliation downward, loss of one's Family Support and Loss of one's Self-Esteem, as well, in parallel with the increase in Individual Personality Challenges, the Socio-Economic Status and the incidence of Adverse Events in the Personal and Family life, the rate of Depression among students increases.
