A study of the present situation and the desired status of technical and vocational educations in the industrial sector; a case study (khorramshr city)

This study aims at investigating the present situation and the desired status of technical and vocational educations in the industrial sector in Khorramshr in 1392-94. The research method is combinational and based on the analysis of documents, interviews and questionnaires. The population of this study includes all organizations and Companies (medium-sized and big industries in Khorramshahr based on registered information available in the Department of Industries of Khozestan, Ministry of Industries and Mines, Department of Industrial Development and Office of Statistics and Information) which were totally 42 companies and also Technical and Educational Center of Khorramshahr in industry sector. Using purposive sampling, seven companies were selected and then 15 managers and experts were interviewed. Then 140 experts were selected randomly for completing the questionnaires. The collected data has been analyzed using t Test and Paired Samples Test. The findings of the research showed that there was a distance between present situation and the desired status of technical and vocational educations in the industrial sector of Khorramshr. In this regard, the managers of technical and vocational education center and managers and experts of industries should put great emphasis on continuous communication and interaction between technical and vocational education center and industrial and manufacturing organizations in the city based on labor market needs.
