The Effectiveness of Reflective Parenting Education on Attachment and Parenting Stress Mothers of Children 3 to 6 Years
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of parenting education on attachment and mothers Parenting Stress. The research method was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest design with control group. The statistical population consisted of all mothers with 3 to 6 years old children who referred to Saraye Mahale of the 4 district of Tehran, 30 mothers selected by available sampling and randomly they were divided into experimental and control groups. and they answered Collins and Reed Adult Attachment Questionnaire (RASS) and Parenting Stress Index - Short Form (PSI-SF). The experimental group, received 10 sessions reflective parenting training, but the control group received no training. The results of covariance analysis showed that were significant difference between group in secure attachment (F = 7.23 and p = 0.01) and avoidant attachment (F = 4.33 and p = 0.05) but were not significant for ambivalent attachment (F = 0.52, p = 0.47). Also the results of univariate analysis of covariance showed that there was a significant difference between groups in parental stress (F = 9.31 and p = 0.006). In other words, the result was that reflective parenting education has a significant effect on improving mothers' secure and avoidance attachment as well as parental stress. Therefore, reflective parenting education can be used to repair mother attachment and reducing parental stress.
