The effectiveness of education based on the Pender model on the dimensions of quality of school life of high school students
The quality of life of students is the result of their participation and involvement in their daily activities at school, and indicates their level of satisfaction. Therefore, the implementation of interventions to improve their quality of life is important. This study aimed to determine the effect of education based on the Pender model on the dimensions of quality of life in junior high school girls.
This quasi-experimental randomized study was performed on 62 female students of two schools (Tahzib and Shahrestani) in Mashhad, 2020. Students were divided into intervention and control groups. In the intervention group, a training program was presented in 7 sessions of 90 minutes for one month. Demographic and school quality of life (SQOL) questionnaires of Anderson school were used to collect information immediately and one month after the intervention. The data were then analyzed.
There was no significant difference between the mean and standard deviation of all dimensions of SQL before the intervention in both groups (p >0.05), but there was a significant difference immediately and one month after the intervention (p <0.05). Only in the dimension of negative emotions SQL, immediately and one month after the intervention between the intervention with a control group was not significantly different (p >0.05).
The results indicate an improvement in studentschr(chr('39')39chr('39')) quality of life using the Pender model, which is recommended to use this educational model to provide education in schools.
