Abstract:
Consensus is one of the most widely used arguments that in addition to jurisprudential issues, has been raised as a reason in many doctrinal issues. The validity of consensus in jurisprudential issues is clear, but its epistemological validity and value in doctrinal issues is disputed and questionable, while in some theological works, the documentation of some doctrinal issues is limited to "consensus". Discovery of the epistemological value of consensus in matters of belief is possible in the light of the analysis of the arguments for the authority of consensus in matters of jurisprudence, in order to clarify whether these arguments have the ability to include matters of belief or not? An analysis of the evidence shows that at least some of the arguments for consensus on jurisprudential issues, assuming they are complete, have the ability to include doctrinal issues, and accordingly, there is no way to elaborate between jurisprudential and doctrinal issues.
