The Impact of Open-source intelligence on Future Wars

Extensive use of information is a feature of future wars. Information can come from a variety of sources; Given that more than 80% of the data processed by intelligence services relies on Open-source intelligence, the data and information collected by the enemy through Open-source intelligence can directly or indirectly affect a country's national security; Therefore, this applied research was conducted by correlation method with the aim of explaining the impact of Open-source intelligence sources in future wars. Analysis of data obtained from the study of sources was performed using structural equation modeling with partial least squares approach and using PLS software. The results showed that the Open-source intelligence sources and the variables that explain it have a positive and significant effect on future wars; In a way that about 40% of future wars are explained by the variables under consideration. It was also found that there is a significant and positive relationship between Open-source intelligence sources and all three components (media, texts and cyberspace) as well as future wars and their two components (characteristics of future wars and characteristics of future security environment).
