Qualitative study of social factors of drug addiction, case study: Kleibar city drug addicts

Abstract:

The main purpose of this study was to identify the factors involved in drug addiction. The statistical population was drug addicts in Kalibar in 1397. The research sample was 38 addicts and the sampling method was purposive. Qualitative research method and research tool was open interview and information analysis method was based on grounded theory approach in which research information and data were coded openly and centrally. The results showed that a total of nine factors are involved in drug addiction: differential association, economic poverty, cultural poverty, social poverty, psychological trauma, differential family, traumatic environment, psychological challenge and social exclusion. Among these factors, social factors play the most important role in addiction. Also, psychological factors mostly played an indirect role in this issue. Addiction treatment and prevention strategies include job creation, strengthening bonds and social solidarity, strengthening drug awareness programs, life skills training, and strengthening law enforcement and security.
