Meaningfullness in Exclusion: Study of Hekmatabadd Neighborhood of Kermanshah

Abstract:

Cities and urban neighborhoods as lived spaces and places of lives are always changing due to cultural changes and human actions. Thus, neighborhood identity is the legacy of the gamut of actions, belongings as well as collective cohesion so that it can delimit neighborhood. It is also one of the main necessities for urban organization. In this regard, the present survey is done to investigate identity of Hekmatabad neighborhood which is located in Kermanshah. Qualitative method using ethnography. The observation and interview thchnique was used. Interview question are in a friendly dialogue and information is extracted from these conversation.The results indicate that neighborhood identity in Hekmatabad has shaped during several interactive processes. Individuals know their identity through neighborhood to which they belong because neighborhood realizes human actions even if those actions may be different from customs. It also decreases the level of diffidence of individuals. Neighborhood identity in Hekmatabad means to tolerate differences.
