Prediction of Mental Health based on Moral Intelligence and Cognitive Flexibility in Nursing Students
The purpose of this study is to Predict Mental Health based on Moral Intelligence and Cognitive Flexibility in Nursing students.
The method of this study is correlational. Statistical population of this study comprised of all nursing students of Guilan University of Medical Sciences in the year 2016, from among this population. 300 students were selected as by using multistage sampling Method. The used tools were Goldenberg General Health Questionnaire, Moral Intelligence questionnaire and Cognitive Flexibility questionnaire. Data analysis was performed through Pearson’s correlation coefficient and regression analysis Under the SPSS 19 software.
The findings proved that there is a positive correlation between moral intelligence and mental health (r=0.32, p<0.01) and there was a significant positive correlation between cognitive flexibility and mental health (r=0.12, p<0.01). Also, regression analysis revealed that 18% of the total variance in mental health is predicted by the Moral Intelligence and Cognitive Flexibility. Ethical Considerations: After presenting the research objectives, emphasizing the anonymity of questionnaires and confidentiality of personal information and getting a written informed consent, the questionnaires were handed to the participants.
The overall results indicate that the mental health of people in the areas of physical, psychological and social is influences ways of Moral Intelligence and Cognitive Flexibility. Therefore, it is suggested that more attention be paid to improving their mental health and their ethical dimension and flexibility.
