Comparison of Mental Health of Active and Inactive Men and Women in Covid-19 Pandemic Conditions

Abstract:

The prevalence of coronavirus and the adoption of methods to combat its spread have different effects on the physical, mental and social health of people in the community. The aim of this study was to compare the mental health and depression rates of active and inactive men and women in the Covid-19 pandemic. The statistical population of this study included 332 men and women from Tehran and Isfahan. The data were collected using the Stress, Anxiety and Depression Questionnaire, the General Health Questionnaire and the Beck Physical Activity Questionnaire. The results of this study show that there is a significant difference between active and inactive men and women in the components of mental health and its subscales, components of stress, anxiety and depression (P≤0/050). In general, it seems that physical activity can be used as a tool to improve the level of physical and mental health of people to deal with this disease and its complications.
