Abstract:
In this paper, energy and exergy analysis of cogeneration electricity and fresh water system is studied. This cycle is a combination of a CHP cycle, a solar energy receiver using heliostat panels, an organic (ORC) cycle, a reverse osmosis (RO) and MED desalination. The effect of important design parameters such as the parameters of Bryton cycle, steam boiler pressure of HRSG, type of ORC cycle fluid, number of effects of MED system and power required for RO system pump on the amount of electricity and fresh water produced and cycle efficiency have been investigated. The results are presented for the city. In this research, the air temperature has been used hourly for Bandar Abbas city. This research provides transient analysis for different hours of the year. The results of this study show that with increasing the output pressure of the steam turbine, the net output of the steam turbine decreases, but using this energy in the MED desalination system, the cycle efficiency increases sharply. This system is capable of generating 220 MW of electricity and 690 kg / s of fresh water for common combined cycles in Iran using 1100 heliostat panels and consuming about 10 kg/s natural gas.
