Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to obtain the base shear force and an overturning moment of the marine jacket in the face of accidental sea waves and the use of a rhombus-shaped wave barrier in front of the jacket’s structure with the aim of reducing the force and overturning moment. In this regard, the model of the jacket structure is constructed at a height of 4.55 meters, 402 meters in length and 4 meters in depth of water, exposed to random waves of the sea and is subjected to the Jonswap spectrum in the flume of Fars National Marine Laboratory (NIMALA). A floating wave barrier was placed in the front of the jacket, and random waves with a wavelength of 23 centimeters were shifted to the jacket. The results show that the wave barrier was caused the reduction of base shear, in maximized, effective and average waves, respectively, 20.56, 34.29 and 27.77 percentage, and 34.31, 33.11 and 46.36% subsequently of the overturning moment. In all examinations, deep water conditions prevail.
