The effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on problem solving ability in women with addicted husband
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on problem solving ability in women with addicted husband. The research method is semi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test with control group. The statistical population of this study was the spouses of consuming the materials referred to outpatient treatment centers of Bonab city in the second half of 2018. The available sampling method was 40 people and in two groups (20 subjects, 20 controls), randomized they were the experimental group received 8 90-minute sessions of acceptance and commitment training. To collect data in pre-test and post-test, Hepner and Patterson problem solving questionnaire were used. To test the hypotheses, covariance test (MANCOVA) was used. SPSS20 software was used for this purpose. The results showed that acceptance and commitment therapy had a significant effect on improving the problem-solving ability . Based on the results, acceptance education and commitment education can be considered as an optimal educational-therapeutic option for improving the problem-solving ability and marital adjustment of addicted women's wives.
