Zoning of Border province of West Azerbaijan Based on Insecurity Indicators Affected by Drug Trafficking Using IDW Method
Security is the most basic need of a society. One of the necessities of security in one country is security in the border areas of that country. Security has many dimensions, one of which is social security. West Azarbaijan province is one of the border regions which, in terms of geopolitical and geo-static situation, is always a believer in insecure factors. The drug problem is one of the most disruptive factors in the province's social security that is rooted in many other crimes. The present study seeks to investigate the relationship between drug trafficking and the rate of adverse social security offenses and to map West Azerbaijan Province based on insecurity indicators. This research is a descriptive and spatial analysis. The statistical population of the present study is the disturbing social security indices of seized narcotics, rape, armed robbery, kidnapping and homicide in the geography of West Azerbaijan province during the period 1392-1397. Data were analyzed by SPSS software in 17 provinces. Pearson correlation coefficient was used to confirm the relationship between the amount of drugs found and the province's security crimes. Reverse interpolation method was used to identify and understand the spatial patterns of security crimes in the province. The findings showed a direct and positive correlation between drug crime (seized drugs) in West Azerbaijan province and the number of armed robberies, premeditated murder, kidnapping and robbery. The results showed that there is a positive and direct relationship between drug crime and security crime. Social insecurity will increase at any time and place where drug trafficking activities increase. Spatial analysis in GIS environment by IDW reverse interpolation method also confirmed this claim.
