Effects of Group intervention based on the Positive Psychology on Occupational Stress of personnel
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of group intervention based on the Positive Psychology on occupational stress among personnel of judicature in the Tehran city.
The present study was quasi- experimental with pretest, posttest, and control group and a three-month follow-up design. Thirty personnel of judicature in Tehran city were selected by available volunteer sampling method and assigned randomly to two experimental and control groups. During eight 1.5 hour sessions, the experimental group received group intervention based on the Positive Psychology. In the control group speaks about smoking, alcohols and accidents (irrelevant to intervention) during eight sessions of 1.5 hours. Before and after interventions and during follow-up stage, the examinees completed Occupational Stress Inventory (Osipow, 1987). Data analysis was done using repeated Measurements analysis of variance with statistic software SPSS 19.
Group intervention based on the Positive Psychology decreased occupational stress significantly (P<0.01).
It is suggested that, along with another copying strategies, group intervention based on the Positive Psychology should also be conducted on personnel with occupational stress.
