Assessment of the effects of modernism on the identity of Iranian-Islamic cities
Modernism is a phenomenon whose earliest signs were manifested by the start of two industrial and political revolutions in England and France in the eighteenth century. The main feature of modernism is permanent and dynamic transformation. Modernism (the intellectual movement that continues) always challenges itself with aging, old-fashionedness and backwardness. This school was introduced as a general theoretical model for the liberation of man from irrational fences, trampled traditionisms and fictional legends, and modern man has the features of: readiness to accept new experiences, independence, scientism, mobility, Using planning, etc. Today's urban life is one of the hallmarks of the influence of modernism on the lives of human societies. Despite all the complexity of the concept of identity and different perceptions of scholars, it is not clear about the fact that the identity of contemporary Iranian-Islamic cities has come to a halt and has become abstract. This paper, using library books and documentary studies, attempts to study the effects of the school of modernism On the identity of Iranian-Islamic cities and problems. According to many experts, weaknesses in architectural and urban management system make inappropriate use of indigenous and climatic culture, the lack of formation of cohesive nongovernmental institutions, lack of attention to the potential of traditional textures and historicist approaches without proper attention to the components of historical architecture and Iranian identity. - Islam is one of the causes of the crisis in the Iranian-Islamic identity. At the end of the article, there are some solutions to the problems of the school of modernism and the revival of Iranian-Islamic identity.
