Strategic planning with a medical tourism development approach (Case study: District 6 of Tehran)

Tourism has always been one of the most important and effective factors in economic dynamism and sustainable development of any country. It became known as medical tourism.In recent decades, economic statistics have shown that strategic planning in the tourism industry, especially health tourism, has been one of the most important factors in the development of cities, especially cities in developed countries. The city of Tehran is also one of the cities with high potential in the field of medical tourism, at the top of which District 6 of Tehran is the most important and most medical centers and hospitals in Tehran. What has caused medical tourism in the city today? Tehran does not have much place, there are obstacles and problems in its way, so the present study evaluates strategic planning with a descriptive-analytical and survey method with a medical tourism development approach in District 6 of Tehran. The statistical population of the present study consists of all tourists and experts in the fields of tourism and health, the sample size of which is a total of 580 people and in order to identify the health tourism strategy in Region 6, the strategic swot technique was used. The results showed. The strategy obtained in the field of medical tourism capacities in District 6 of Tehran is the SO strategy, in which external opportunities can be exploited by using internal strengths.
