Political discourse formation in the parties of the Iraqi Kurdistan region

In this study, we have tried to analyze the political order in the Kurdish region of Iraq through the theory of analysis of the discourse of Laclau and Mouffe. The basic idea was based on the principle that the political order in the Kurdistan region constructs political subjects in a discursive way. The most important actors in this arena are the parties of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, each of which has its own kind of political order and political discourse.In this regard, we analyzed the discourse of the four main parties. The data studied were the statutes of the parties as well as the speeches and quotations of the party leaders, which were analyzed using the method of analyzing the discourse of Laclau and Mouffe. Data analysis led us to four political discourses, which include the discourse of Kurdistan Independence (KDP), the discourse of Democratic Kurdistan (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan), the discourse of legitimate Kurdistan (Movement for Change) and the national-religious discourse (Islamic Union of Kurdistan).
