The relationship between personality traits and intimacy as predictors of divorce tendency in women living in Tehran

Given the importance that personality traits and intimacy can have in predicting divorce, the purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between personality traits and intimacy as predictors of divorce tendency in women. The divorce was filed in Tehran in 2018.

The statistical population of this study included all women seeking divorce in the city of Tehran in the year 2018. The sample consisted of 350 individuals who were selected by multistage sampling. Data were collected using two long form Personality Inventory (NEO), baggage intimacy questionnaire.

Statistical analysis of the results showed that personality traits and intimacy at 0.01 level can predict divorce in women.

The results of this study showed that personality traits and styles of intimacy positively predict divorce. It also decreases with increasing individual scores on personality traits and intimacy of divorce.
